I made a video to test out my DIY iPhone 4 Stabilizer and to test some of the iPhone 4′s capabilities, namely the depth of field. I really love the iPhone 4 the images it produces are amazing. But I still need to tweak some things on my Stabilizer, and I need to practice some more on how to move my body, because I think that’ll help the smoothness of the movement. I’ve also added some pictures of the Stabilizer after the break. ( I did not color correct this video, the colors are straight from the iPhone 4 )

So today is an amazing day here in the Netherlands, the iPhone 4 was finally released over here, and I, lucky as I am was able to get this extraordinary phone as one of the firsts in the country. Now this is just a small post to keep you up to date. From now on I’ll be taking notes as I use this amazing phone to eventually write a review. There is one thing I’d like to spoil ahead of that review, though, the antennagate is nowhere to be found on my unit. I don’t know if this is because of this being a new batch of iPhones or that it has to do with the media exaggerating the problem. So stay tuned for the review because I’ll be talking about actually using the phone like any normal person would, hopefully this’ll help people decide wether the iPhone is something for them. So please stay tuned for some awesome coverage!

A few days ago I went out for a walk with my dad and my brother. It was a beautiful day, the weather was nice and everything felt so quiet. I primarily went out to test my DIY SteadyCam and to check out some cool places for a short movie I’m working on, but while testing out the SteadyCam I felt like creating a short movie. I called it Harmony, because of the way I felt that day.

Inception: Review

Christopher Nolan, a great director of many great films has created yet another master piece. His movies are not only extremely entertaining, they contain certain ideas that are worked out really well. Inception is an amazing movie, and makes you think. A movie that makes people start conversations and debates, it does what a movie needs to do, it touches you, not necessarily in an emotional way, well at least that’s what happened to me and what I picked up from the people that left the theater after seeing this great movie.

iPhone 4 release date for the Netherlands: July 30th!

Today Apple held a press conference in which they talked about the iPhone 4. They spoke about the infamous death grip, and how they are going to fix it. Their data showed that the problem wasn’t as big as the media made it look. The solution they gave their customers is to give all of them free cases, until September 30th. At that date they’ll re-evaluate the problem and decide if they are going to keep on giving them away or provide a new and better solution.

I finally finished my last few weeks of hard work for the end of this school year, which I’ve successfully passed. So now comes a time of relaxing and having fun. It also means that I now have a lot of free time and will be able to update my website more frequently. And this summer will be the summer I will be shooting one or two, and maybe even three short films, that will, of course, also be posted on the website.

The A-Team: Review

I just returned from the cinema after watching The A-Team with my mom and
my brother, and I thought, why don’t I write a review on it?

The A-Team is about a group of four soldiers who are being locked up,
after being set-up by an unknown enemy. These four soldier then escape from
prison, and go out seeking revenge and justice. It may seem like a simple story,
but the way it’s presented is pretty cool. Hannibal, played by Liam Neeson,
is a great strategist, he plans the whole mission before they go out, yet he
manages to be a few steps ahead of the enemy. The way they show this in
this movie is really fun to watch. I like how the story isn’t as simple as it may
look and I really liked the twists and turns.

Trying to get back on rails with my art journal. I always see these amazingly epic art pieces with big ass mechas on them, being the person that I am I always fantasized me making one of those pictures. So here’s a sketch for one I am going to try and finish.

Microsoft’s Courier

Engadget just posted a some nice content on Microsoft’s Courier. It basically is a digital journal with a highly intuitive touch-based interface. The new video shows some really cool interface effects and some nice ideas. If this will work the way it does in the video this could be something I’d buy when it’s released. While I was surfing the web for tutorials I came by this blog called Greyscalegorilla. He has a few amazing tutorials on Cinema 4D and I learned a lot. He also has this project going on where he lets his viewers make 5 second animations. After a certain deadline he then watches the videos and picks the best. In the meantime you get a lot of exposure and you also gain experience and footage for your portfolio. Check some of the videos out at this link. I took the time and made one myself, mine was made for the latest theme called Self-Portrait. You can check my video out after the break or in my portfolio.
