iPhone 4 in the house !

So today is an amazing day here in the Netherlands, the iPhone 4 was finally released over here, and I, lucky as I am was able to get this extraordinary phone as one of the firsts in the country. Now this is just a small post to keep you up to date. From now on I’ll be taking notes as I use this amazing phone to eventually write a review. There is one thing I’d like to spoil ahead of that review, though, the antennagate is nowhere to be found on my unit. I don’t know if this is because of this being a new batch of iPhones or that it has to do with the media exaggerating the problem. So stay tuned for the review because I’ll be talking about actually using the phone like any normal person would, hopefully this’ll help people decide wether the iPhone is something for them. So please stay tuned for some awesome coverage!

iPhone 4 release date for the Netherlands: July 30th!

Today Apple held a press conference in which they talked about the iPhone 4. They spoke about the infamous death grip, and how they are going to fix it. Their data showed that the problem wasn’t as big as the media made it look. The solution they gave their customers is to give all of them free cases, until September 30th. At that date they’ll re-evaluate the problem and decide if they are going to keep on giving them away or provide a new and better solution.

Microsoft’s Courier

Engadget just posted a some nice content on Microsoft’s Courier. It basically is a digital journal with a highly intuitive touch-based interface. The new video shows some really cool interface effects and some nice ideas. If this will work the way it does in the video this could be something I’d buy when it’s released. Apple has held their keynote and has introduced something really amazing. It’s called the iPad. The so-called Apple Tablet that a lot have been waiting for. Check out apple’s introduction. Apple’s latest creation…

Apple is readying for their keynote on January 27th, the upcoming Wednesday. At this keynote/event they are going to release something they call they’re latest creation. But we, the Internet, know better. For a while now there have been these rumors of some sort of tablet device, an iPod Touch on steroids, coming from Apple. The wait is almost over, so after the break I’ve written my expectations and some of the rumors circling the web.

Browser test, DROID versus iPhone 3GS

Engadget has posted a video of a browser test for DROID versus iPhone 3GS.
It is really interesting, but I won’t spoil the fun check it out!
(The DROID is running Android 2.0 and the iPhone, well the iPhone OS 3.1)

Android 2.0 was officially unveiled. They’ve uploaded a video in which they
show some of the new features in they’re updated OS. Android 2.0 will probably be
the version of Android that will be running on the Moterola Droid. The phone that
verizon thinks will beat the iphone. (Moterola Droid ad after the break!)

New iMac, Mac Mini, Macbook and new Magic Mouse!

Yesterday Apple updated a few of their products. The iMac now goes up to 27 inch and gets quad core.
The new Macbook get the unibody technology from the Macbook Pro’s.
The Mac Mini gets a few speed bumps and goes server.
The Mighty Mouse sadly dissapeared due to legal issues, but fortunately gets replaced by the magnificent Magic Mouse featuring the multi-touch technology. I talk about the updates in the video above,

WWDC

I followed Apple’s keynote at the WWDC 2009 on Gizmodo. A few interesting things came by, the new iPhone, some Expose in the Dock for Snow Leopard, the new Macbook Pro family and a few more. But overall I wasn’t really impressed.. It was as if they were repeating already known facts and updating things they didn’t even have to update if they didn’t remove it in the first place(Firewire). The WWDC focuses a lot on the developers and you notice that in the part about the apps for the iPhone, they took a large part of the show. I’ll list some of the interesting things after the break.
