When Microsoft showed off Windows Phone 7 I was extremely impressed with the metro interface. Simple, yet extremely effective. Microsoft decided to bring this same interface to their Windows line, a great idea if you ask me! With Windows 8 Microsoft is going to bring their metro interface to the desktop. Not only that, they are going to take a leap into a ‘post-pc’ world, as Apple did with Lion. Going touch-first by focusing on tablet-like devices and tailoring the UI accordingly. All in all Windows 8 sounds like an amazing new operating system.
A few days ago at Microsoft’s BUILD event, a developer preview of Windows 8 was released. I installed it as soon as I could, and played around with it. Their touch-first mentality was noticable at first glance. In the videos I saw on the web Windows 8 seemed to be a breeze to use on tablet-like devices, but Microsoft kept saying that it would still be usable with your mouse and keyboard setups. While you can use the operating system with your keyboard and mouse, to me the controls suck.
Windows 8 has a lot of potential, but some of the features just don’t work on desktops. I’ve made a video showcasing some of the improvements I would make to Windows 8, in order for it to work both on tablet-like devices and on desktops with a mouse and keyboard. Please check it out, and let me know what you think about Windows 8 and these improvements.
After two weeks, here it finally is! I was asked to create an impression video for the Amsterdam Street Art Project, so I went and shot four of the opening days of the festival. Those four days were filled with great art, their artists and a whole lot of interesting people. When I was done filming I was really excited to begin editing all the footage into one awesome package! I am really happy with the outcome, so please check it out and let me know what you think!
Special thanks to Nicole Blommers who approached me to create this video.
I was asked to make an impression video for Amsterdam Street Art. To create the video I got myself access to a Canon 7D. The video will be online soon, but in the meantime this is a short film I created in my free time, together with Jonathan Doelwijt, Anton Gumbs and Verno Romney.
Today I went ahead and registered munkicloud as an official company, so as of today I am the official founder of munkicloud. It’s a day I’ve been looking forward to for a while, but it’s the coming months that are important, because it’s time to get serious!
The first product “officially” released under the munkicloud name will be an iOS App called COLOURHOUR, from which you will hear more soon enough, so stay tuned!

I think it was about a year ago that I first saw this game, and it was this great CG trailer that got me interested right away. After this video, though, it became quiet around this game, I searched all over the internet trying to find new footage and details about the game, yet I found nothing of any significance. I’m really glad that period is over because for a month or two now this game has come back up on my radar and a lot of cool details and videos have emerged. So read on for my first written impressions on this game.
